Boards & Commissions
All board members are appointed by the Mayor and City Council and serve without compensation. Boards and commissions are established for the purpose of acquiring and studying information in specific areas and making recommendations to the Mayor and City Council on issues within the board's area of expertise. Some boards have decision-making powers within their areas of expertise. Decisions made by these boards are appealable to the City Council or the courts.
Appointments to the boards and commissions are made as member term limits occur. Recruitment for the annual appointments is on a continual basis. If you are interested in becoming a board or commission member, please fill out this form.
Each board and commission is supported by a staff liaison.
