Former Officer Richard Gosch was arrested last night by the Georgia State Patrol under the suspicion of a DUI.  He was initially hired in January of 2014 and went to another law enforcement agency in November 2016. He subsequently was rehired by the Newnan Police Department in May 2022. The Newnan Police Department recognizes the seriousness of this charge and an initial review led to the determination that policy violations occurred and the officer was terminated. 

Further investigation is ongoing at this time.
