Newnan Citizen Academy Application

Thank you for your interest in this FREE Academy. 

The Newnan Citizen Academy takes place over 6 Tuesday evenings:

  • Tuesday, September 9, 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. (City Hall, 25 LaGrange St.)
  • Tuesday, September 16, 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. (Fire Training Facility, 473 Greison Trail)
  • Tuesday, September 30, 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. (Public Safety Complex, 1 Joseph Hannah Blvd.)
  • Tuesday, October 7, 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. (City Hall, 25 LaGrange St. & Public Works, 57B Boone Dr.)
  • Tuesday, October 21, 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. (City Hall, 25 LaGrange St., Charles Wadsworth Auditorium, 25 Jefferson St., & Newnan Carnegie Library, 1 LaGrange St.)
  • Tuesday, October 28, 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. (City Hall, 25 LaGrange St.)

By submitting this application you confirm your availability to participate in a minimum of five (5) of the six (6) dates. Please note: an absence from two (2) or more dates will result in not graduating from the Newnan Citizen Academy. The class has a limited number of participants and applying does not guarantee a place in the Academy. You will be contacted regarding your participation by Communications Manager, Aimee Hadden, by July 1, 2025.

Academy Requirements:

  • Available to attend on the dates listed for the upcoming class. 
  • 18 years old or older.
  • Resident, work, or own a business in the City of Newnan.
