The City of Newnan assesses certain types of excise taxes to be collected by businesses operating within the City of Newnan. Rental motor vehicles and hotel-motel excise taxes are two of the most common. The taxes are collected as a business is conducted, then submitted to the City of Newnan. These two taxes in particular are used to promote tourism in the City.
