The City of Newnan Fire Department recently promoted four firefighters to the rank of lieutenant. Fire department lieutenants are assigned to a specific fire station and shift and are responsible for supervising the crew of firefighters. 

Fire Chief Stephen Brown remarked, “We had many qualified firefighters apply for these four positions and I am very pleased with the four we promoted. They collectively have over fifty years of experience in the fire service and have demonstrated a deep commitment to the safety of our community. They will lead well.” 

Newly promoted lieutenants include Justin Cunningham, Clinton Gilley, Richie Hughes, and Cory Scott.
